About me
Growing up in Jersey City, I was immersed in a vibrant blend of diverse lifestyles, food, and experiences that broadened my horizons. My older sister played a pivotal role in shaping my values, inspiring me to prioritize education and explore the world. As a child, I loved exploring new places, organizing everything, and diving into books that took me on adventures beyond my imagination. I graduated from Montclair State University with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, where I took several courses focused on child psychology. This enriched my understanding of child development and inspired my journey into professional childcare. After graduating, I began babysitting for a family in Harrison, and soon after, I transitioned into a nanny role for a wonderful family in Hoboken.
I started working with children at 12, first as a mother’s helper for my aunt and later as my cousin’s babysitter. In high school, I gained more experience babysitting for teachers, and one summer, caring for two preschool children inspired my interest in psychology and child development. In college, I worked part- and full-time caring for children from 6 months to 9 years, managing routines like diaper changes, meal prep, and naps. After graduating, I specialized in caring for newborns to 4-year-olds, becoming First Aid and CPR certified. I use my knowledge to help children learn new skills, reach milestones, and, when possible, incorporate Spanish into fun, language-enriching activities.
I find immense joy in watching children discover the world around them and witness their personal growth. As someone who enjoys reading and continuously learning, I believe that the more I explore, the more valuable knowledge I can share with the children I work with. Each child deserves an environment that nurtures their individuality while offering support and guidance. My approach to childcare focuses on creating a safe and positive atmosphere where children feel encouraged to express themselves, take risks, and learn at their own pace. Ultimately, my goal is to inspire a lifelong love of learning in each child.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
I love helping children become as independent as they can be, whether it’s learning to feed themselves, wash their hands, or put on their shoes. To support this growing independence, I focus on activities that build language and communication skills, like reading stories together, singing songs, and talking throughout the day. Developing motor skills is another area I’m passionate about, from guiding children to climb, jump, and explore their surroundings for gross motor development to introducing fun fine motor tasks, like stacking blocks and drawing with crayons. I also enjoy fostering their problem-solving skills with activities that encourage curiosity and an understanding of cause and effect. In addition to these skills, I enjoy participating in imaginative and creative play, as it fosters creativity and language skills. Whether we’re pretending to be chefs or creating stories with stuffed animals, I enjoy seeing their imaginations come to life. I also believe in the importance of teaching early math and literacy concepts through playful activities, like counting songs, color recognition games, and shape exploration, to lay a strong foundation for future learning.
