About me
I grew up in Farmingdale, NJ, about 10 minutes from the Jersey Shore. I went to Howell High School where I swam competitively for my school's varsity team and Red Bank National team. During high school, I volunteered to coach on both teams and became a camp counselor at a local camp watching a bunch of kids. I truly fell in love with childcare and after high school, decided to follow a career in childcare. Currently, I am studying Early Childhood development and education at Brookdale College. I am hoping this career will help me move further in my career in childcare and help me have a greater understanding of children's developmental and emotional needs.
I have worked for families both as an occasional date night sitter and as a full-time nanny. I have worked for families with newborns- 8 years old. In Manasquan, I became a full-time nanny where I cared for 2 twin girls (3 months- 3 years old) and two boys (2 -5 years old) (4 to 7 years old). My responsibilities included changing diapers, following the feeding schedule, helping introduce solids, creating healthy and balanced meals, entertaining them throughout the day, getting children on and off the bus when necessary, and assisting during sleep regressions. In Morganville, I cared for a family that had two girls (newborn years old) (4 - 6 years old). My responsibilities included changing diapers, creating healthy and balanced meals, driving children to and from school, entertaining and helping with tummy time, introducing solids, and assisting during bedtime. I have traveled with this family for up to a week to visit family in a different state. During all of my childcare experience, I have had the opportunity to create everlasting relationships with the parents and children.
The quote, "Be the change you wish to see in the world" truly resonates with me. My goal is to create a kind, loving, and safe environment for children so that they can portray that through the rest of the world.

In 5 years, I hope to be...
In five years, I am hoping to graduate with my bachelor's in early childhood development and education and in school for my master's. I would enjoy being with a family as a nanny long-term and would love to still be working for them.
Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
One of my favorite activities with children is going to the park or going outside. Being outside is so refreshing and fun for everyone, but especially for the littles. I feel like this one activity introduces an endless amount of fun for everyone. For example, I SPY uses colors or shapes, makes pictures out of clouds, counts the leaves or flowers on a bush or a tree, introduces adjectives when looking at different aspects of nature, and plays with bubbles. All of these individual activities are derived from one activity; going outside. I have had the opportunity to share my love for swimming with a handful of the children i have watched. A few years back, I volunteered as a swimming coach on my high-school team and at a few clinics. I love being able to share this skill with children. Water safety is extremely important and being able to implement that and still have fun is very rewarding.
