About me

Growing up in the vibrant borough of Brooklyn, I, Amanda, always knew that my heart belonged to motherhood. From an early age, I found immense joy in nurturing, caring for, and playing with my baby dolls. I have always loved taking care of and playing with my baby dolls. These toys were real to me and they represented my aspirations and dreams of becoming a mom one day.

My natural inclination towards childcare blossomed further when I began to take care of my younger cousins. Supervising their antics, or simply being a reliable playmate, I loved every moment spent with them. I gained joy in taking care of them, supporting their development, and witnessing their curiosity about the world around them.

2018 was the official start of my childcare experience. I started working as a school break counselor at Brooklyn Arts Exchange, which gave me the opportunity to interact with kids of different ages. Every day was an exciting journey full of games, fun, and educational possibilities. I planned creative and cooperative learning activities that encouraged kids to explore their interests and pick up new abilities. I learned a lot about patience, communication, and the value of fostering a secure and supportive workplace from this role.

In 2022, I was hired as a Kids Team Member at Lifetime Gym. Where I moved up quickly and got promoted in July of 2023 as a Kids Team Supervisor. At Lifetime Gym, I was responsible for overseeing a variety of activities for children, from arts and crafts to active play. Every day I find so much joy in working there. I am also the birthday lead there and host birthdays for various families.

Working as a kids supervisor at Lifetime Gym also allowed me to collaborate with a multicultural group of childcare providers. Working together with others who were as passionate about developing young minds as I was enhanced my experience and gave me new insights into efficient childcare methods. We all worked together to create a warm, inviting environment where kids felt free to explore and express themselves.

I've discovered from my time working in daycare that every child is different, having their own talents, passions, and difficulties. I take great satisfaction in paying close attention to each person's unique requirements and modifying my style as necessary to make them feel heard and encouraged. I try to be there for kids in every way, whether they need support to attempt something new or a consoling presence during a trying time.
