About me
I grew up in Cali, Colombia as the only child of a strong single mother, who has always been my greatest support and inspiration. As a child, I loved playing basketball and roller skating, spending time with my family, and my friend, and reading.
I graduated as a Psychologist in 2013, and worked for two years in my country at a government institution, providing support and counseling to families and children. this experience deepened my understanding of child development and the importance of creating a supportive environment for growth.
I have over 8 years of experience caring for children in New York. I started as a live-in nanny through an exchange program called Au Pair in America, working with children aged 5, 3, and 10 years old. After that, I transitioned to a live-out nanny position for 6 years. During my first year as a live-out nanny, I cared for an infant who was just 5 months old, and I worked with him for about a year. Most recently, I spent 5 years with a family where I cared for twins; I started with them when they were 2 years old, and now they are 7. My responsibilities have included everything from diaper changes and feeding to organizing educational activities and outdoor play.
I have a genuine love for outdoor activities, arts and crafts, and reading, all of which I enjoy sharing with the children I care for. Whether it’s organizing a fun day at the park, creating art projects, or diving into exciting storybooks, these activities not only enrich the children’s experiences but also foster their creativity and curiosity. My motivation to pursue child-related work stems from my belief in the importance of nurturing a child’s emotional and intellectual growth. I strive to create a safe and stimulating environment where children feel valued and understood. My philosophy centers around encouraging independence while providing guidance, allowing children to explore their interests and develop their unique identities. This approach, combined with my extensive experience, helps me connect with children on a meaningful level and support their overall development.

In 5 years I envision myself pursuing a certification in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to work effectively with children on the autism spectrum. Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
I enjoy introducing arts and crafts projects that spark creativity and self-expression, whether it's painting, drawing, or building with various materials. Additionally, I love teaching basic cooking skills, like measuring ingredients and following recipes, which not only fosters independence but also encourages healthy eating habits. Sharing these activities helps children develop valuable life skills while having fun and making lasting memories.
