About me

Hello! My name is Kaylie, and I’m 23 years old. My husband and I recently moved to New York this past August, bringing our beloved dog and cat. I’m pursuing a degree in Dental Hygiene at Hostos Community College, with the goal of becoming a pediatric hygienist. I’m excited to combine my love for working with children and my interest in oral health to make a positive impact on young smiles.

With over eight years of dedicated childcare experience, I’ve had the pleasure of working with diverse families, from new parents welcoming their first infant to larger families with up to eight children, including teenagers. This experience has equipped me to adapt to various family dynamics and individual needs. I’m comfortable caring for children of all ages, ensuring that each child receives the attention and support they need to thrive. My background includes standard childcare responsibilities—like supervising play, organizing activities, and managing daily routines—alongside a commitment to fostering a safe, nurturing environment.

I also have experience caring for children with special needs, which has deepened my understanding of patience, empathy, and tailored caregiving approaches. I take pride in creating inclusive environments that celebrate each child's unique abilities. My approach emphasizes open communication with parents to integrate their expectations and values into my care. I’m passionate about supporting children's growth and development and look forward to bringing my enthusiasm to new families!

I particularly enjoy working with children ages 2 to 5, as this is a remarkable time when they begin to emerge as individuals with their own thoughts. I love witnessing their curiosity as they ask questions about the world and express their preferences in play. This age group is full of energy and creativity, and I find joy in facilitating experiences that encourage their growing independence and self-expression. Whether through imaginative play or hands-on learning, I cherish the chance to nurture their development and help them discover their unique voices.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

In five years, I envision myself as a pediatric hygienist, making a positive impact on children's oral health and fostering healthy habits from a young age. I’m passionate about working with children, and I look forward to creating a welcoming environment that encourages them to enjoy their dental visits. Additionally, I hope to be starting a family of my own. I believe that building a supportive and loving home will allow me to share my values and experiences with my children, helping them grow into happy and healthy individuals. Balancing my career and family life is important to me, and I’m excited about the journey ahead as I pursue both my professional aspirations and personal dreams.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

One of my favorite activities to share with children is sharing seasonal arts and crafts activities that not only spark creativity but also foster learning. I believe that hands-on projects can help children explore concepts in fun and meaningful ways. Whether it’s making holiday decorations or nature-inspired art, these activities provide opportunities for self-expression and skill development. I also love to encourage outdoor play, as I think it's essential for children's physical health and social skills. From organized games to free exploration, I enjoy facilitating activities that allow children to connect with nature and each other. Reading is another passion of mine, and I love sharing stories that ignite imagination and curiosity. I enjoy setting up cozy reading nooks and introducing kids to a variety of books, helping them develop a lifelong love of literature.
