About me

Hi there, my name is Maybeline! I am extremely flexible, punctual, and reliable, always adapting to meet the unique needs of each family. I value kindness, creativity, and honesty. I may be biased but I think I’m a lot of fun and generally a very happy person!

I have fourteen years of childcare experience, having worked as a live-in nanny, a regular nanny, and a babysitter, as well as a teacher at a daycare center. My background has equipped me to care for children of all ages and backgrounds, including multiple children of varying ages. As a nanny and a babysitter, I’ve provided full-time/part-time care for families (including date nights), which when applicable, involved creating daily routines, preparing meals, and engaging in age-appropriate fun activities. For the past six years, I’ve been privileged enough to hold down two long-term positions (averaging three years each). I’m skilled in creating schedules, being proactive but following a routine if asked or needed, and being completely receptive to the needs of the parents and the child. Depending on the age of the child, I’ve always strived to find or plan age-appropriate activities that support children’s growth and development while creating a safe, fun, and educational environment. As a native Spanish speaker, I introduce Spanish to the children I nanny to help them develop bilingual skills and enhance their cognitive abilities. Through simple words, songs, and interactive activities, I aim to make language learning fun and engaging, fostering a love for different cultures. I believe in maintaining open communication with parents, providing updates on activities and any concerns that may arise and so in the past I have provided charts, sent pictures, or anything of the like, detailing the child’s day in order to keep them up to speed and in the know. When it comes to caring for a child, my approach has always been gentle but firm. I believe in guiding children through situations calmly and consistently, without raising my voice. Under my care, your child will feel secure, supported, and loved.

I genuinely don’t have a favorite age! I don’t have a specific favorite age range because I find that every stage of development is unique and filled with its own special moments. I truly enjoy the different joys and challenges each age brings, and it’s such a privilege to be a part of each child’s journey as they grow, learn, and explore the world around them. I do have a special fondness for the 0-4 age range. There’s something truly special about watching children discover the world around them, exploring new ideas, and developing their personalities.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

Reading together is a very big passion of mine, as I love reading, and I find that not only does it spark imagination but it also fosters a love for literature. I also enjoy sharing arts and crafts projects and small science experiments, as they encourage creativity, self-expression, and curiosity. I believe these activities not only create enjoyable experiences but also help build strong bonds with the children.
