About me

I grew up in a small farming community Newport in the parish of Manchester on our lovely Caribbean island Jamaica West Indies. I'm the eldest of two siblings, but grew up with nine other cousins. I enjoyed playing games, listening to music, reading, and singing in the school choir. I attended the Holm Wood Technical High School. After leaving school I started working as a secretary for a construction company. I then started to pursue a bachelor's Degree in Education part-time at the catholic college of Mandeville which was unfinished, and also a diploma in Medical Assistant at the South College of Mandeville. Both educational opportunities have landed me in a child-related profession as I have first-hand knowledge of child care.

From a tender age, I had the privilege to help with younger children. my sister who I am ten years older had quality time spent around her helping my mother with chores as it related to the baby. I remember during my high school years I was given the task of picking up and kept after school my two-year cousin from kindergarten because my parents were at work. this lasted for two years. On summer holidays I remember how I used to help teach my five, eight, and nine year old cousins to read, and plan exciting games for them when they visited for holidays.

I always have had a passion for working and care for children. As Jean Piaget inculpates the stages of development from birth to adolescence motivates me as a caregiver to help children through their developmental milestones.
