About me

I was born and raised on a beautiful island known as Jamaica. I grew up with a big family, and I am the youngest of 8 (fun fact, I have a twin brother). I moved to NY when I was 24 and have been living here ever since. I got my GED and worked as a front-desk receptionist/secretary for over 20 years at a residence owned by the Salvation Army. This is where I met some amazing people and grew close bonds with the families living there.

Being the youngest of 8 and having such a large age gap with my older siblings, I've had the pleasure of caring for their children while they were at work or in school full-time. I believe this early experience helped shape me into the nurturing caregiver I am today. Aside from taking care of my children and grandchildren, I have 8 years of experience as a professional nanny. I've worked with newborns to pre-teens, building a strong rapport and connection with each family. Some of my many responsibilities included preparing bottles and meals, bottle feeding, monitoring nutritional intake, changing diapers, bathing the child, participating in indoor and outdoor activities, and assisting with light household cleaning. I am CPR certified, and always ensure a safe environment for the child.

I believe children are the future! They are the ones that bring true happiness to this world. I enjoy being a part of their lives and watching them grow into such wise, joyful, and strong individuals. My favorite thing to do in my free time is to read or paint. I love doing this with children cause not only is it fun, but it helps broaden their creative minds.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

Healthy, strong and to have grown into a much wiser and compassionate person than I am today.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I enjoy reading books to children. Seeing their expressions as they smile and fill the room with laughter. I like to engage in fun activities such as drawing or painting so they can embrace their creativity.
