About me

Hi my name is Tyesha and I am from NYC. I am a mother of two beautiful children. A 5-year-old girl and 2-year-old boy. They are my pride and joy. It wasn't until I had children of my own that I grew a passion for working with kids. Being able to be an influence and direct them on the best path possible has become such a determination for me. I come from a huge family and was always the go-to person when it came to watching my cousins. Not only did I have the patience, but I connected with them on a different level. My family members would always say "I don't know how you do it, but you do it, and you do it well". I am looking not just for a job but for a family that I can assist with the success of their little ones. I am very energetic and have an optimistic attitude and I believe that those are two of the top characteristics someone needs to have when working with children. They are constantly learning and observing their surroundings, and I love to help them learn and grow. Implementing activities that gives them the opportunity to obtain life skills they can utilize in the future. My mission is to be their stepping stool for any obstacles that come their way and help them overcome them.

In the past, I have worked with ages 3 weeks old to 8 years old. I was an occasional sitter in which the families I worked for in the past would call me when needed. My most recent family I worked with was with a newborn. The family needed a lot of assistance as this was their first child and mom and dad were pretty busy with work. He was born in October, and I started with the family in mid-November. I would wash his laundry, feed him on a set schedule, change his diapers, give him baths, put him down for naps as well as get him a set sleeping schedule. As he got older, I would implement activities such as tummy time, singing a long song, sensory activities, taking him on walks, and playing with toys that would challenge his gross and motor skills.

I love to travel, I love learning. I am currently studying for my teas' exam which will help my chances getting into nursing school. I currently work full time for a breast surgeon, but I am looking to nanny/babysit full time.
