About me
Most days I can be found in Carroll Gardens with my two dogs, walking to the farmer's market or reading in the park. I’m currently a very part-time student at SUNY Empire State pursuing a degree in Human Development. I've always leaned into psychology and education, and the ways that the two are so deeply intertwined. Having extensive experience with all ages between infancy and adolescence, I am still constantly thrilled to experience new ways to support their development!
Excluding the babysitting I grew up doing for my community, I have over ten years' experience in intentional childcare. Growing up in St. Petersburg, Florida, my first job was working at an
outdoor program in a local nature preserve. I spent seven years working with children ages 7-13, leading activities like fire building and hiking. I later worked for three years as an experiential education facilitator, leading retreats focused on community building for children between 5-18 years. My experience also includes running after school community programs for LGBTQ+ teenagers and, most recently, working in the Infant/Toddler program at a Montessori school. I’ve been CPR and First Aid certified for over eight years, have three years of lifeguarding experience, and have completed a host of relevant trainings including EpiPen, Emergency Preparedness, and Connected Discipline. I am well-read and have taken numerous college courses on child development, child psychology, attachment, and other crucial areas of childcare.
Having benefited from many role models in my own childhood, I’m motivated to offer the same support to the children in my care today. I love to encourage agency- regardless of age, all young people benefit from the opportunity to make mistakes within a set of very clear boundaries. My greatest strength is my ability to quickly build connections, engaging with all children carrying a sense of curiosity. The greatest reason I love this work is the connection we build with the people in our care. I highly emphasize emotional safety, ensuring that children feel seen, heard, and supported by fair limits and clear expectations.

In 5 years, I hope to be...
I hope to have a hand in some sort of community mission that involves getting young people involved with art, the outdoors, or some combination of the two. My favorite part of the work I've done over the years has been watching children and teenagers learn and grow in their abilities to navigate challenges, empowering themselves and each other.
Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
This answer definitely depends on the child! My favorites include outdoor activities like nature walks or scavenger hunts with children. I love bringing children to the library to read and check out books. I love exploring new mediums of art together- most recently this has included sculpture and embroidery.
