About me
Hi! My name is Christina and I'm a Montessori Guide/Nanny. I was born and raised in Texas, but I’ve lived in the city for the last 18 years! My first job out of high school I worked as a teachers assistant in a childcare facility. It was there that I discovered children have an Intrinsic motivation to learn. I became fascinated with the developing mind and that led me to my calling. In 2009 I graduated from Barnard with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education.
After meeting my spouse and traveling the world, we decided to settle down and get married in 2013. A few years later I got pregnant with our sweet girl and while researching the environment and methods in which to raise her- I discovered Montessori and fell in love! It was then that I decided to go back to school and get my Montessori Certification.
I have worked as a babysitter, Nanny, Montessori Guide, preschool teacher, and tutor. With ages ranging from newborn to adolescence. I'm an artistic person who values creative thinking. I strive to create educational experiences that enhance a child's ability to problem solve, innovate and make decisions. Having creative outlets as a child not only lowers stress, it boosts confidence and self esteem. This is an area that I love to support. From touring Chelsea galleries to exploring the world of botany. I'm here for it! With a world as vast as ours there’s so many opportunities to learn. I practice the ABCs of behavioral analysis. Understanding and analyzing a behavior allows me to observe the child and follow his interests, abilities, and desires related to learning. Once I understand the meaning behind certain behaviors, I can provide the support necessary for him/ her to be successful. Besides having an analytical perspective, I'm also a mother and I have a strong instinctual response to children's needs. I'm flexible with travel, and passport and hold clear membership. I have many strengths, but one of my favorites is enhancing early literacy skills and building foundational content of knowledge from an early age.
