About me

I am from Orange, New Jersey and I grew up with two older brothers. I graduated this May from Montclair State University with a degree and Communications and Media Studies. Since graduating, I have been working from home and babysitting. I love taking care of children and getting to observe their developing personalities and interests

I have worked with children from the ages of 6 months to 12 years old for around 4 years, mainly in early childhood educator roles. I got my start by tutoring a family friend to have to prepare their 5-year-old son for kindergarten. Afterward, I began working at Little Friends of Chatham as an assistant teacher. I would prepare meals, help with potty training, and manage activities. I started with a classroom of 4 to 6-year-olds and towards the end of my time, I was a floating teacher between one and five-year-old rooms. On Saturday nights, I would babysit for some of the kids and their siblings. From this position, I discovered a love for working with children with special needs. From this position, I worked at JCC Metro West in West Orange, New Jersey as an assistant teacher as well as a floating teacher. My main classroom was around, 1 year old, and most were just beginning to walk. I would change diapers, help with nap time, prepare food, play with the kids, and collaborate on Reggio Amelia's lesson plans. We taught the kids sign language and created activities out of everyday items that challenged their sensory skills. I have learned so much from my experiences as an early childhood educator and caretaker. I believe children have so much capacity to learn and it is a gift to be able to care for them.

In my spare time, I love to go to concerts, go on walks, spend time with friends, listen to music, read modern Greek Mythology books, and more. I am more of an introvert and I value personal relationships with those around me. It is part of why I love working with children and ensuring they feel safe around me. It fills me with such joy to watch as they develop their cognitive and motor skills
