About me

I grew up in the Bronx, the youngest of three. I love musicals, singing, traveling, and occasionally background acting. I have a Bachelor's in psychology from the State University of New York at Cortland. I will eventually be going back to school to get a Master’s in social work.

I’ve always wanted to work with children since I was a child myself. During high school, my first two summers were spent as a day camp counselor for summer youth and then as a daycare teacher assistant. In college, I interned at a nursing home and met a lovely worker there who hired me to babysit her 8-year-old grandson during the summer. I escorted him to his day camp, and swimming lessons, and played games with him. I also had a neighbor who knew I loved working with children and hired me as an after-school babysitter for her 5-year-old grandchildren, and later newborn granddaughter. My duties were to help with homework, create educational activities to entertain them, read books together, prepare meals, bathe, change diapers, dress the baby, and help with their bedtime routine. I worked with this family often until her oldest grandchildren started high school. When COVID restrictions were lifted, I became an au pair in Italy for three months. There, my job was to teach 7-year-old twin girls English, pick them up from school, take them to their activities, prepare meals, and play new games they taught me. When my visa expired, I came back to the States as a backup care nanny for different families. Ages ranged from 3 months to 10 years old. I’ve picked up children from school, provided their meals, went on walks to the library or park, done tummy time for infants, children's laundry, and learned and played different games. Additionally, send pictures to their parents throughout the day to reassure them.

My family, friends, and new people I meet describe me as a natural nurturer. I love helping people when I can and making sure everything’s okay. I believe this quality is a big help to me especially when I meet a child whose parents are surprised their child is comfortable with me when they usually take a while to open up to strangers.
