About me

I grew up in southern Brazil as the eldest of four children, with three younger brothers. I was passionate about music, performing arts, cinema, TV, and books from a young age. I pursued a degree in Languages and Literature, followed by a specialization in play pedagogy and a certificate in filmmaking. My journey in education began in my second year of college when I started teaching English as a foreign language to students ranging from pre-k to high school. Alongside my teaching career, I consistently engaged in babysitting and was a live-in nanny for four years. Since graduation, I have dedicated myself to working with children in various capacities, all of which tie into my professional experience as a babysitter, nanny, and child-related professional.

I have been working with children since 2010, accumulating a wealth of experience with various age ranges. My childcare journey includes roles as a full-time live-in nanny, part-time after-school nanny, occasional babysitter, teacher, and teacher's aide. I have cared for children as young as three months to 12 years old, ensuring their safety and well-being through activities such as diaper changes, bottle feeding, preparing meals, and engaging in educational and recreational play. Additionally, I have served as a house director in a day camp and as an improv acting instructor for elementary school students. My skills are further enhanced by my fluency in Portuguese and English and advanced proficiency in Spanish.

I still cherish the arts, music, theater, cinema, and TV as much as I did in childhood. These interests deeply connect with my love for working with children, as I believe in the power of creative expression and its impact on a child's development. Currently, I am a board member of a theater company, working as an assistant director and stage manager on our summer show, and I teach acting improv lessons to children from pre-k to 8th grade in a day camp. My approach to childcare is rooted in fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can explore their interests, develop their creativity, and grow into confident individuals.
