About me

I am a caregiver with a passion for supporting a child's growth through mentorship built on trust. I was born in Texas but grew up in Appleton, Wisconsin, so I'm a cross-section between Southern hospitality and Midwestern generosity. I am the sister to a stubborn little brother, who taught me to be a patient and loving sibling. I grew up in Montessori and project-based schools; I believe in lifelong learning and helping children follow their innate curiosities to discover what inspires them. I recently received my BFA in Dramaturgy from Carnegie Mellon University. I grew up as a performer and practiced voice, acting, ballet, jazz, tap, and violin. I find my theater skills to be my greatest asset when working with children; I have an animated and bubbly personality and love following a child's imagination wherever it takes them!

I started babysitting in middle school. My first family was four girls, an infant, a 2-year-old, a 7-year-old, and a 9-year-old. I warmed bottles, changed diapers, provided meals, and entertained them with various activities. After moving back to Texas, I babysat for a family with an 8-year-old boy and 11-year-old girl. During my gap year, I was the after-school nanny for two boys, aged 8 and 13, who were both on the autistic spectrum. I picked them up from school, provided nutrition that aligned with their unique dietary restrictions, and engaged in activities and games. Working with two boys on the autistic spectrum taught me how to maintain household boundaries while investing in their unique interests to help them feel seen, understood, and supported. During this year I was also a preschool teacher for a class of 2 and 3-year-olds. My responsibilities included helping children at various stages of potty training, assisting children working through learning centers, playing during recess, guiding lunchtime, and supervising during naptime.

I grew up with amazing caretakers who helped to shape me into who I am today. I believe that by helping a child to feel seen, heard, and understood in a nurturing environment, their confidence and sense of self can flourish. I would be privileged to play a part in their journey of growth!

In 5 years, I hope to be...

I hope to build an established theater career as a dramaturg, and director. Living in New York has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember and I hope to build a community and network that I can give back to and feel supported by.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I have a big imagination and love to play pretend! I love playing high energy games outside, doing arts and crafts, going on excursions to the park or local museums, baking, painting nails or doing hair/playing dress up, playing board games or doing puzzles, and just following a child's lead on where their imagination wants to go! I would love the opportunity to share my skills in acting, singing, dancing, violin, or French if that would suit a child's interest. I have been a children's theater educator for many years and have lots of fun theater games up my sleeve.
