About me

As a native New Yorker, I’ve grown up in a world enveloped in diversity. My mother is a first-generation immigrant from the Dominican Republic and I was born and raised in the Bronx of New York City. Living a life where both of these cultures meet has shaped my upbringing in a huge way. It has allowed me to indulge in my culture while also being exposed to others. I have seven siblings—essentially seven amazing and reliable relationships. My mother always taught us to treat each other with love and respect. I carried those values with me when I decided to go away to college. At the State University of New York at Fredonia I received a double major in Acting and Psychology. I graduated in 2018 and ever since, I’ve become the epitome of the New York hustle. I’m grateful for my education and how I’ve been able to apply it to my work as a performer. I currently work with the Children’s Theater performing for children who have medical, special, or social needs. This exposure has allowed me to understand children, their learning, and their communication through incredibly special experiences.

I’ve had the opportunity to work with children of a variety of ages, working with them for anywhere from a few months to a year or more. I definitely have to have distinct relationships with each person and specific ways of working with them to accommodate every individual's needs. When I work with younger, smaller children, there is definitely more of a need for a hands-on approach. I have to monitor and track eating as well as rest while also engaging in fun activities and indulging them in the outdoors. I always try my best to get children involved in activities that are outside of the box. For smaller kids, when they need baths or diapers changed, I easily perform those needs with the utmost care. I also do believe that I’m pretty good at feeding even the pickiest eaters. When it comes to older kids/teenagers, I appreciate an eye-to-eye approach. Though they are young, they’re very close to their adulthood and I try to ground them in being in that space between being a kid and being an adult.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

Performing with larger theatre companies, working with major film studios, producing my own work, publishing written work, and traveling whenever possible.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

Art! Painting, drawing, even ceramics if that's available to me. I love physical activity so playing games that get you on your feet are a huge plus.
