About me
Hi, I'm Sierra! I'm from the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area, where I grew up playing sports such as basketball, soccer, and track and field. As a kid, my dad had a recording studio where I was free to express my love of music. I grew up playing the guitar, drums, and some keyboards; I used to be in different bands throughout middle and high school. I also have a love for travel which has taken me to many wonderful places, including living in Peru and visiting Europe on different occasions, broadening my perspective and enriching my experiences.
My passion for childcare began over eight years ago. I have had the privilege of working in various roles, including serving as a camp counselor, nanny and home manager, and Director of an after-care program over those years. These experiences allowed me to develop strong leadership and organizational skills, as well as the ability to provide exceptional, personalized care for children of all ages.
I have extensive experience working with children of all age groups, from newborns to teenagers. In my roles as a nanny, home manager, and after-care program director, I have planned and executed engaging and age-appropriate activities to support each child's development and interests. My responsibilities have included managing daily routines, preparing nutritious meals, organizing educational and recreational activities, and overseeing the logistics of school drop-offs and pick-ups. Additionally, I have provided comprehensive household management, ensuring a harmonious and organized environment for the families I work with. My ability to adapt to the unique needs of each family and child has allowed me to foster strong, trusting relationships and create positive, enriching experiences for everyone involved.

In 5 years, I hope to be...
In the next five years, I hope to be running my company, Navi Nanny, full-time. My extensive experience as a nanny has been the guiding force behind this venture. Through my years of dedicated childcare, I recognized a growing need for reliable and professional travel nanny services. With the encouragement and support from several of the wonderful families I've worked with, I gained the confidence to turn this vision into reality. I also hope to in general be a more happy and healthy individual! I would love to travel more and check off countries like Japan and Ghana off my travel list!
Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
I enjoy teaching creative skills such as arts and crafts, music, and storytelling, which encourage self-expression and creativity. Through my experience in sports, I can introduce children to various physical activities like basketball, soccer, and track and field, promoting teamwork, discipline, and physical fitness. Additionally, I emphasize the importance of life skills such as time management, organization, and problem-solving, helping children develop independence and confidence. I also love organizing fun and educational activities such as trips to farms, where children can learn about animals and agriculture firsthand. Reading challenges are another favorite, designed to motivate kids to develop a passion for books and improve their literacy skills. Fine motor skill activities like puzzles, building blocks, and arts and crafts projects help enhance their coordination and dexterity. My goal is to create a well-rounded, engaging, and supportive environment where children can explore their interests and reach their full potential.
