About me

Hi! My name is Mary Grace! I was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, with a younger sister and brother. We are each around 20 months apart so we are very close. Sibling dynamics are something I know very well, and I like to think of myself as a pro when it comes to finding a compromise ;) I just graduated from Saint Louis University with a degree in Communication. Since graduation, I have been traveling all over and getting settled into my new apartment with my best friend from SLU. She is a Kindergarten teacher at the UES. I am very excited about this next chapter of my life.

I started babysitting when I was nine years old and have had a passion for childcare ever since. Throughout elementary and middle school, I was babysitting all the time for kiddos of all different ages. My sister and I even started our own summer camp for girls (20-25 kids a week, ages 5-10)! As I started high school, I took on more consistent care roles for several families. I nannied for a family that had twins in 2019. I began watching them when they were six weeks old and they are now four. My responsibilities have included everything from changing diapers to sleep training to helping them reach milestones. This family taught me so much, especially when they welcomed two more girls, one in 2021 and another in 2022. We did lots of baby sign language together! In the summer of 2021, I began watching a six-month-old boy. I helped this baby transition from bottles to solid foods. I even got to see him take some of his first steps right before I left for college! I have extensive experience with infants, toddlers, and multiples. Additionally, I have lots of experience with young school-aged kids.

I have always loved kids, but I think growing up around educators (my mom, aunt, and cousin are all teachers) has made my love grow in a new way. I love helping kids develop into their own person and seeing the world through their eyes. There is nothing better than sharing in the excitement of someone just discovering the world. My goal is to create a safe and loving environment and help a child grow into the best versions of themselves all while having lots of fun :)
