About me

Hi, my name is Syndie, and I'm a passionate, creative, and experienced nanny originally from a small town outside of Las Vegas, Nevada, but spent the last ten. years in California! I am an older sister to a younger brother named Cody and a half-sister named Savannah, who is about to be a high school senior this year. As the eldest, caretaking became second nature to me from a young age. With nearly a decade of professional experience, I’ve had the joy of caring for children of all ages, from infants to teenagers. I’m currently in the process of obtaining my degree in fine arts and psychology but am taking a sabbatical to settle into the Big Apple!

Throughout my career, I’ve provided comprehensive care for children, including transportation, light housekeeping, travel, animal care, and running errands. I have experience managing medical needs, such as diabetes care for a type 1 diabetic child. Beyond childcare, I’ve supported families by taking on administrative and household tasks, and serving as a family assistant/house manager when needed. I’ve traveled extensively with families, including trips to sleepaway camps! My roles have ranged from assisting new mothers with bottle warming, sleep training, teething, and walking, to celebrating milestones like bar mitzvahs, getting driver’s licenses, and high school graduations.

I love connecting with kids through art and imaginative play. My creative spirit guides my daily life, and I enjoy bringing that magic to the bright minds I spend my days with. My philosophy since I first started as a nanny in 2015 is to be "fun, yet firm" while setting and upholding appropriate boundaries for everyone involved. Another favorite motto of mine is, "Treat people with kindness, and OURSELVES!" I believe that when we treat ourselves with kindness first, we can extend that kindness to others as well.

With a background in fine arts and psychology, I integrate creative and educational activities into childcare. I am committed to nurturing, educating, and inspiring children while ensuring their safety and well-being. I look forward to the opportunity to bring my skills, experience, and passion for childcare to your family.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

A mom! Having spent so much of my life caretaking family or with work, I hope to switch gears and apply the skills I've learned over the years with my own little one(s). Being a mother is the longest dream I've had since I was a toddler and know when the time is right, it'll happen. Until then, I get to be a part of so many awesome littles' lives and am greatly rewarded by doing so!

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I love to pull out the arts and crafts, go on epic adventures of imaginative play, play at the park, teaching kindness, humility, and respect in compassionate and empathetic ways. I am a big proponent of feeling your feelings and making children feel heard in their feelings and fears. It is of the utmost importance to me to be a safe space that gives loving, caring attention to your baby!
