About me

I was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland with one older brother, and have lived in NYC for 15 years. As a child, I enjoyed visiting the National Aquarium, the Baltimore Science Center, the Baltimore Zoo, and the Inner Harbor. I acted in my first play when I was nine years old. I worked my first babysitting job when I was twelve. Theatre and childcare have both been a huge part of my life ever since. I earned a BFA in Acting from NYU Tisch and a General Education Minor from NYU Steinhardt. Since graduation, I've acted, directed, wrote, produced, and stage-managed for various NYC theatre companies, and have amassed 21 years of childcare experience, including babysitting, tutoring, teaching assistantships, working as a full-time nanny, as an English Education Volunteer in the Peace Corps, and, most recently, as a Montessori teacher in an infant (Nido) classroom.

I've cared for children ranging in age from birth to age twelve, with the majority of my experience being with infants and toddlers. I'm Infant CPR-certified, REI certified (Resources for Infant Educarers), speak Spanish and Georgian conversationally, am in the process of learning ASL, and have experience caring for children with special needs. I love helping our littlest ones explore their worlds for the first time and introducing them to this big thing called Life.

I currently work as a Montessori teacher in an infant (Nido) classroom. My youngest student is four months old and my eldest is eighteen months. I live by the child-led philosophy of helping as little as possible and as much as needed. I encourage autonomy and curiosity. I am committed to instilling compassion and kindness in the children I influence and to leading by example in these things.

I’m passionate about raising infants and children in a way that creates a better, kinder world for all of us, and about forming lasting connections with families that bring joy to all of our lives.
