About me

Born in Davao, Philippines, and raised in Chicago, IL, I consider myself a "3rd culture kid," which refers to someone who grows up in a culture different from where his or her parents grew up.

I was lucky enough to grow up in an ethnically diverse neighborhood and loved making friends from all different backgrounds! I attribute my upbringing and my dance background to becoming someone who loves to learn about others and various cultures.

I recently moved to Manhattan in the Upper East Side, and I've worked with children of all ages in many capacities for over 10 years. I've been a day camp counselor, a dance instructor, a babysitter, and a nanny.

Throughout high school and college, I worked as a summer camp counselor in the same program I attended from 4th to 6th grade. After graduating from the University of Southern California with a BA in Public Relations, I babysat on weekends while I worked at a restaurant, taught dance classes, and was a full-time nanny for an 18-month-old toddler in 2021.

I am an outgoing, empathetic, athletic, and patient nanny. I enjoy the outdoors, and arts and crafts, I'm a huge music lover and love teaching kids how to dance!

My childcare philosophy is to always be prepared, but flexible, and to teach kids how to care for themselves and the people and places around them.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

Working full-time as a dance teacher for people of all ages.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I enjoy teaching children how to dance hip-hop, ballet, tap, jazz, and easy yoga poses! I believe teaching and encouraging movement at an early age is so helpful with development and instills positive habits that last a lifetime! I also like to teach kids how to manage their emotions by noticing their feelings, helping them identify their emotions, and properly handling them through breathing exercises. Because of my day camp background, I also love teaching fun hand games like Down By The Banks, Concentration, and Slide Slide Slippery Slide. Depending on age, I love to teach independence by teaching children how to prepare a snack, pack a bag for when we go out to the park, clean after ourselves after eating or playing with toys, share with others, and say things like "please" and "thank you."
