About me

I'm Leo, from São Paulo, Brazil. I've always been eager to learn new languages and new cultures, which led to study Language Arts at Faculdades Metropolitanas Unidas, in São Paulo, where I received a bachelor's degree. My goal at the time was to become a translator and interpreter, which I did during my last semester in college. When I graduated, in 2012, I became interested in teaching English as a Second Language and I worked for some of the best schools in my country.

With over a decade of enriching experience nurturing children, my journey with the little one started in 2013 as an ESL Teacher. By aiming to combine both experience and love for working with children, I decided to join the Au Pair program in the United States in 2017, where I was able to acquire more skills that made me a better caregiver as well as improve my English and learn more about the American Culture. After that year, I also spent a Summer in London, where I worked as an au pair and learned about a new country and culture.

I consider myself caring, thoughtful, reliable, and resourceful and I aim to use my knowledge and experience to be as helpful as I can to the families I serve. Having called NYC home for the past five years, I've had the pleasure of collaborating with families from diverse cultural backgrounds, caring for children across various age spectrums. Ensuring the safety and well-being of the children entrusted to my care remains my foremost commitment. Moreover, I strive to foster an atmosphere brimming with joy and security, wherein children are encouraged to share their thoughts and emotions.
