About me
I grew up in Blacksburg, Virginia (the home of Virginia Tech) with two siblings (both younger). I grew up traveling abroad a lot (mostly in Germany and the EU) and am very close with my family. I then attended Belmont University in Nashville, TN for Musical Theatre. While there I studied abroad in London and discovered my love for theatre/film PR so made the switch to pursuing a career in that industry. During my time in Nashville and London, I worked as a nanny for various families and maintain relationships with them to this day. I also worked as a party princess/princess performer and enjoyed it so much.
I've been working in childcare since I entered college and most recently began substitute teaching for a local school district. I plan on continuing to do this in New York as well! My most recent nannying experience was with a little girl who was 10 months old when I began taking care of her and was 16 months old by the time I had to move and ended my time with them. I would take her to baby classes, stay-n-plays, playdates with her family members and other kiddos, as well as run errands to get diapers, formula, and other essentials. I would help prepare food for her as well and put her down for naps when it was time. I became CPR certified for adults, children, and infants before I began nannying her.
In my free time, I love working out, playing (and seeing) music, reading books, and cooking. I began working in childcare because I've always loved children and I grew up with an insatiable love of learning and growth and think it's so important to share that with children. I also understand how important it is for parents to find great, reliable childcare and I love being part of that as I know how important it was to my parents when my siblings and I were growing up!
I have professional child care experience with...
- Infants
- Toddlers
- Preschoolers
- School-aged (K-5)
- Preteen
- Teenagers
- Multiples
In 5 years, I hope to be...
I would love to be working as a professional theatre publicist and working towards my end goal of having a bi-coastal theatrical PR agency.
Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
I can help children learn piano (I took piano at University), singing, acting, and dancing! I'm also comfortable speaking/listening to German as I grew up living there on and off. I love coloring and painting, and while I'm not the next Picasso, I think it's such a fun activity to do with kiddos! I also adore soccer. Big Liverpool FC fan!
