About me

Hey there! I'm Olivia McCall, and I'm from Chicago, Illinois! In my family, I have an older sister, a younger sister who's stepping into high school this year (exciting times!), and two adorable little brothers, aged 3 and 5. As a kid, I was all about art - painting, clay, baking, you name it! After graduating from Lake Forest High School, I headed to The University of Colorado Boulder to dive into elementary education for about a year and a half. But along the way, I discovered my true calling as a nanny, and it's been an incredibly rewarding journey ever since!

My passion for childcare ignited with the arrival of my youngest sister. I was just 8 when she came along, but I happily took on the role of helping with everything from feeding and changing to endless playtime. From there, I started babysitting at age 12 which quickly transitioned to roles as a camp and after-school counselor during high school where I've formed deep connections with kids of all ages and backgrounds. As a counselor, I supervised groups of 10 to 15 children, ages 6 through 12. I then went on to become a nanny for three different families with children ages 18 months to 9 years old. During this time, I provided healthy meals, and transportation to and from school and activities. I also planned and executed plenty of fun activities like crafts and outdoor play, along with household chores, including dishes, laundry, cleaning up toys, and bath/bedtime routines.

I am incredibly dedicated to my work with children as I believe they deserve the highest level of care, respect, and most importantly patience. Children are experiencing the world for the first time and rely on adults to help guide them through it, so giving them the time and space to grow is of the utmost importance to me!

In 5 years, I hope to be...

In five years, I envision myself further enriching my career in childcare, possibly taking on leadership roles or exploring opportunities for professional development in early childhood education. I hope to continue nurturing my passion for working with children while also expanding my skills and knowledge in the field. On a personal level, I aim to maintain a balanced lifestyle that allows me to thrive both professionally and personally, fostering meaningful relationships and pursuing my interests outside of work. Ultimately, I hope to be making a positive impact in the lives of children and families while continuing to grow and evolve!

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I particularly enjoy introducing them to the art of origami because it offers a wide range of shapes and skill levels that children of all ages can participate in. It's a great way to introduce creativity and dexterity while also providing a sense of accomplishment. Additionally, I love involving children in cooking and baking activities. I believe it's essential for children to develop independence, so I take joy in sharing this valuable skill that they'll undoubtedly use in the future.
