About me

Local to New York City; born and raised on the Upper West Side. Graduating from Syracuse University with a Bachelor's in Film and English. I am the big sister to an awesome ten-year-old boy. Since graduating, when I am not babysitting or part-time Nannying, I am freelance assisting in video production and wardrobe styling, publishing my own zines, creating my own video art/ mixed media content, and performing writing pieces at venues and open mic nights. My creative endeavors, both professionally and personally, tie into my childcare career since I incorporate creativity and self-expression into my practice whether this includes activities and games or experiences such as visiting children's museums and other institutions focused around child learning. I firmly believe that such practice promotes confidence, empathy training, and creative problem-solving in children!

I have been babysitting since I was about 12 years old, however, I have been professionally working in childcare since 2019. I began as a temporary full-time Nanny prior to the COVID pandemic, caring for a one-year-old -- making homemade baby food using baby-safe locally sourced and organic products, changing diapers, putting him to sleep for naps, and even working as a travel nanny for a weekend. From there, my experiences range from part time nannying and babysitting toddlers aged two to four years old and a sweet seven year old! I have experience caring for a child with diagnosed ADHD and anxiety.

I remember once hearing a quote by Aldous Huxley on children, "Children are remarkable for their intelligence and ardor, for their curiosity, their intolerance of shams, the clarity and ruthlessness of their vision," and that really encapsulates what I love most about working with children. I think there is as much to learn from kids as there is to teach. Additionally, one of the most valuable parts of working in childcare is not only forming and developing a relationship with the child but with a whole family.
