About me

Hi. I grew up in NYC, the Bronx, and then Westchester. I am the eldest of three sisters and we are all 5 years apart. I am very close to them and we grew up in a house filled with love and humor. I was a theatre major at Northwestern U and still am a performer. I am a professional children’s storyteller, The Storybook Mom. I have raised 2 children of my own who are amazing people.

I have worked with many families as a babysitter and nanny. I have spent the past 4 years with a family part-time starting when the child was 7 months old and is now five. We do creative activites such as making up stories and games and I pick him up from school and camp. We go to karate, swimming, dance, the park, museums and walks. I spent 20 years in Chicago and babysat for many families by meeting them at one of my 12 weekly storytimes.

I am passionate about books and using my imagination. I love connecting with young children. They are the best people and they inspire me to live in the moment I believe in seeing the world in a loving way. I also love words and use as many interesting and unusual vocabulary words as I can because I believe having the tools to express your thoughts and emotions is a lifelong important skill.
I have taught acting classes for children and to me learning to feel comfortable and know when to be heard are valuable tools for life. We always end the class as an ensemble, a team who work and support each other and everyone gets a round of applause. It’s always a team effort.
