About me

I grew up in New York City as the big sister to a younger brother. We loved doing theatre in our community, playing soccer, reading, and hearing stories about our parents' childhoods. I attended Washington University in St. Louis, where I studied Comparative Arts (literature, literary theory, language, and practical arts). Since graduating, I've worked primarily in customer service with non-profits and as an actor in theatre and television. I've had the opportunity to work with people of all kinds and love that my job as an actor allows me to keep playing, even as a grown-up!

As the oldest of ten cousins, I've always loved helping with childcare. I grew up babysitting for kids in my neighborhood and became a camp counselor in the summers. I moved into teaching positions, first as a peer tutor in high school and a drama teacher at a camp for 6-9 year-olds in college, and most recently as an acting coach for middle schoolers in NYC. I currently teach acting students of all ages and career levels and have worked with the education departments of notable theatres in the city.

I love babysitting kids of all ages and energy levels! I have babysat for an 18-month-old, a 2-year-old, and children I've known since they were 6 months old and 2 years old, who are now 6 and 8 years old. Most often, I am in charge of afternoon and evening care responsibilities: saying bye to parents as they leave for work or date night, constructive playtime, serving and cleaning dinner, bedtime routines, a good-night story, and bedtime. I love to tidy the house once the kids are asleep and give the parents a quick update on how the evening went once they get home.

I believe in encouraging kids to play, to make new games, and find new ways of engaging with their own creativity. I think that teaching kids the responsibilities and boundaries they'll need to navigate the world as they get older is just as important as saying "yes-and" to their wildest imaginations! Spending time with kids always reminds me that the world holds lots of magic when you take some time to play.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

In 5 years I hope to be doing work I’m passionate about, eating good food, and hopefully going on a few adventures!

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

Aside from improv games and acting, I also love to draw, play guitar, study French, cook, and do yoga. Most of the children I’ve cared for have preferred games and drawing, but I’d be happy to teach any of these skills to anyone who’s interested!
