About me

Hi there, my name is Becky, I grew up in Massachusetts, have 2 siblings, and 56 first cousins! I am Russian-Ukrainian and loved growing up with a very large family. My whole childhood consisted of playing outside, climbing trees, hiking, and biking around my neighborhood. I played various sports throughout school but enjoyed Volleyball and Tennis the most. I graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a degree in Psychology, and then moved to New York City shortly after!

My love for children started when I would babysit my cousins in high school which led to me studying childhood development at Umass. While in school I volunteered at the children’s hospital and was an Assistant Teacher at the Center for Early Education and Care on campus. I was able to meet a lot of good families through the center and began privately nannying shortly after. Since then I have looked after children of all ages and personalities. I started with my first family when he was a newborn and have been with them for 5 years. My primary responsibilities were bottle feeding, changing diapers, bathing, dressing, going on neighborhood walks in the stroller, and putting him down for naps and bedtime. Now that he’s five we love going to parks to build sand castles, finding new books to read for bedtime at the library, learning new things at museums, and creating art projects with his newest obsession, pipe cleaners! I would help with school drop offs and pickups, organizing indoor and outdoor activities, meal prepping, and bedtime routines. I also got the opportunity to travel with the family to New Zealand and Scotland!

When I’m not working, I love to travel and explore! If it’s not to a different state or country, I love to wander through different neighborhoods in the city to try different types foods or find new thrift and antique stores. One of the reasons I love working with children is how curious they are about the world. It’s rewarding watching them grow and I love encouraging them to explore their own interests and become their own unique person.
