About me
I grew up as the middle child of three in New Paltz, in the Hudson Valley region of New York State. During my teenage years, I was a frequent visitor to the local Youth Center, and I went on to assist the staff there as I got older. I would help out with supervising the younger kids in the program and helping to organize fundraisers, field trips, and events- Personally, I consider this to be where my work with young people began. I was also incredibly passionate about music and theatre throughout my life, and after graduating high school I went on to earn my Associate's Degree in Theatre Arts from SUNY Ulster in 2019. In 2020, I was accepted into the Music Theatre Conservatory program at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy and moved to New York City to continue my studies. I graduated from AMDA in 2022 and continued to live in NYC as a working actress for the following year, until moving to New Jersey this past summer.
As a full-time performer, I rediscovered my love for working with children on several instances. Much of the work I did was at theme parks, tourist attractions, and other venues frequented by families. As a character or a guide, I would need to constantly think on my feet to keep the audience entertained, and more importantly, keep the kids engaged in what I was presenting. It was in the past year that I began babysitting as a side job for friends and local families, and at the beginning of 2024, this became my main source of income. I have worked consistently with two families since December, playing games with the kids, helping them with homework or chores, preparing simple meals, and occasionally driving them to classes and playdates. In March 2024, I also took on a part-time role as a Teacher's Assistant for Drama Kids NYC, supporting acting classes and arts programs for kids ranging from 5-10 years old.
More than anything, what I love about working with children is seeing them learn and grow. I feel that it is so important for kids to have support in pursuing their passions and in finding who they are as people at their own pace, and it means the world to me that I've gotten to play a mentor role in so many kids' lives already!
