About me

Hi! My name is Amanda, I grew up in Long Island! I had the best childhood and have 3 siblings! I was always playing outside, helping my mom bake, and being extremely creative. I’ve worked in the childcare field for twelve years. I went to school for early education and minored in special education at SUNY Delhi and SUNY Oneonta. I have worked in Pre-Schools, daycares, summer camps, babysat, and worked as a full-time nanny for high-end families. In my free time, I love to be outside, ice skate, bake, cook, and walk my family's dogs.

I started my first full-time nannying job and the kids were three weeks old and eighteen months old. I helped with changing diapers, prepping lunch, nap time, bottle feeding, and bath time. Especially with younger kids I love to do these days! In this day for example, if the older girl loved the movie Moana we would go on a walk and look for a rock that resembled the heart of Tifiti, bring the rock home, and paint it green with a swirl like in the movie. Then we would bake green cupcakes and watch Moana before nap time. The kids always feel so proud of themselves. I’ve also worked with special needs kids, and would do tons of crafts with them! We would do a lot of shaving cream art so they can use their sensory skills by touching the shaving cream and also having fun. I also worked at a special needs summer camp and the child I was with was nonverbal but within the week it was as if we could talk to each other because I learned his way of expressing himself. I also worked at a pre-school, and kids summer camp having more than six kids in my group. I also help with light house cleaning, prepping and making healthy lunches and dinners, and anything child-related. (Going through clothes to see what fits and is too small, sanitizing toys during nap or free time, organizing kids' closets, taking out toys that haven’t been used in a long time to make room for new toys)

I love being a nanny because I love to have a positive impact on a child’s life. I love to make the day special and let the kids have fun while also teaching and guiding them to make good choices. I love to make every day special and fun because I love being a huge part of a child’s life.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

enjoying all aspects of life and staying healthy. I would also like to find a long-term family to nanny for. I think consistency is so important in a child’s life and I like to stay for a while.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I love to bake with the kids! Do crafts with the kids, play sports, go to the playgrounds, scavenger hunts.
