About me

Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, I have had the privilege of working with children since my early teens. While I attended college at the Pennsylvania State University, I also worked part-time at a daycare and mentored younger children in various theater camps. In 2012, I received a BS in Communication Sciences & Disorders and a BA in Theatre, and was proud to graduate with highest honors and serve as graduation marshal for my class.

This fall, I am excited to begin my studies in Documentary Filmmaking at The New School.

I have been a SmartSitter since October 2012, and it has been one of the most rewarding jobs I have ever had. I love being both a playmate and a mentor for the bright and creative SmartKids out there! It's important to me that the kids I babysit feel free to have fun and be their silly selves, but I also make sure that they know they are safe and in good hands with a competent, patient, and street-smart grown up -- just like when they're with Mom and Dad.

I have extensive experience working with children from birth to 10, siblings both close and distant in age, multiples, and some special needs. I am also well-versed in the arts of playdates, school pick-ups, meal/snack preparation, establishing sleep routines, homework help, and hauling the whole gang to their after-school activities. I really like getting to know each family's individual way of doing things in order to establish an easy routine that we can all settle into as we work together.

Besides having fun with kids, my hobbies include: reading, playing piano & guitar, walking in Ft. Tryon park (with my 95 lb dog!), and the NYT Crossword.
