About me

My name is Denise. I was born on the twin islands Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. I grew up in the suburbs in a town called Chaguanas. I've lived most of my adult life in NYC. I call Brooklyn my home. I'm the youngest of four children. I grew up with lots of cousins and relatives living nearby. That's why I am such a nurturer, friendly, and good communicator. I attended high school in Trinidad and Tobago, where I did O and A levels. As a child, I spent a lot of time outdoors. Playing sports or playing in the rain. I understand the importance of outdoor activities.
I have been a professional nanny for over 15 years. I have great experience in the childcare field. One of my first clients was a family of 5 kids. I worked alongside a speech therapist and physical therapist. I started when the oldest was 2 weeks old. I have experience with preemies, infants, and toddlers. I have worked with twins and families with multiple or one child. I'm knowledgeable about several methods of sleeping training. I love making baby food and introducing new foods. I have worked with picky eaters. I love preparing healthy dishes for the young ones. I try making dishes and hiding vegetables and beans. I believe in a balanced diet, fruit and vegetables are a must. I'm knowledgeable in baby-led weaning and pureed baby food feeding. Some of my duties were washing baby bottles, preparing meals, and doing laundry for children.
I believe in creating a nurturing positive environment with fun excitement and humor. I love structure and routine. I incorporate daily outdoor activities in our adventures also encouraging independent time. Reading is an important activity in a baby's and toddler's life. I try reading every day to the children I care for. Reading is important to young ones. I enjoy having and working with children.
