About me

Greetings, I am Cassidy, from the borough of Queens, New York, where my upbringing with three younger cousins cultivated a deep-seated passion for nurturing young minds. When I was younger I drew fashion designs, wrote poetry, and played the piano. Following my secondary education, I embarked on an academic journey at the esteemed Borough of Manhattan Community College, where I attained an Associate's degree in Communications. Presently, I am pursuing a Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, endeavoring to enrich my pedagogical prowess and broaden my understanding of child development. Transitioning beyond the bustling confines of New York City, I began more formal childcare centers in Chicago, where I seamlessly aligned practical experience with scholarly insights. During this journey, I also had the privilege of nurturing an infant under my care through part-time babysitting, further deepening my bond with the realm of childcare.
My time in childcare spans from 2018 to the present. I started off nannying for my high school literature teacher's children ages 2 and 4. My responsibilities were changing diapers, potty training, warming breastmilk, driving them to and from school in the family car, as well as meal prepping, feeding, light housework, and doing fun activities outside or in the park Evolving into roles of increasing responsibility within four distinct daycare centers, I ventured from assistantship in toddler and pre-K classrooms to assuming the role of lead teacher in the of the infant classroom. I have comprehensive training in mandated New York State childcare protocols such as CPR, shaken baby syndrome, sudden infant death syndrome, and child development certifications.
My love for styling hair and clothes not only fosters creativity but also encourages self-expression among the children. Whether it's experimenting with fun hairstyles or dressing up in imaginative costumes, these activities promote confidence and individuality. Exploring museums and art galleries feeds into our collective curiosity, sparking conversations about history, culture, and artistic expression. Nature walks provide endless opportunities for discovery and learning about the natural world, while also promoting physical activity and a sense of wonder. Reading and diverse cultural studies not only expand our knowledge but also cultivate empathy and understanding towards others. By weaving these interests into our daily routines, I create a holistic and enriching environment where children can grow, learn, and develop in a nurturing and stimulating way.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

In the coming five years, I aspire to delve even deeper into the realm of childcare, enriching my experience with each tender interaction and fostering profound connections with the little ones I have the privilege to care for. Additionally, I envision myself embarking on a journey toward becoming a doula, further expanding my capacity to support and empower families during the transformative journey of childbirth. This pursuit aligns seamlessly with my enduring passion for nurturing and advocating for the well-being of both children and their caregivers, propelling me toward a future where I can make a meaningful impact in the lives of those I serve.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

One of the joys I find in working with children is instilling in them the invaluable skill of expressing their emotions in healthy ways. I delight in guiding them through yoga stretches, fostering both physical wellness and mindfulness. Moreover, I cherish nurturing their innate curiosity for life, encouraging them to explore the wonders of the world around them with boundless enthusiasm and wonder.
