About me

I grew up in alternating homes between my parents in Puerto Rico and Florida, I was raised bilingual speaking, reading, and writing both English and Spanish. I am the middle child of seven children and spend most of my life hustling and helping around the house with my younger siblings and helping take care of the needs in our home.
As a child I enjoyed surfing, going to the beach, and swimming after school. I was and still am a voracious reader. In my preteen and teen years, I began to learn to sew and have spent many years learning how to make small things here and there and hope to continue to develop my skills and learn quilting.
My first babysitting job was in high school where I babysat four siblings ages 3, 5, 7, and 9, I cared for them three days a week for four hours each day. I fed them dinner, finished their school work with them ensured they were tucked into bed, and read them bedtime stories until they fell asleep.
In December of 2022, I graduated from Pratt Institute with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Writing and a minor in Art Education. I worked through my school's Saturday Writing School program to teach late elementary and early middle school students creative writing, exploring a variety of genres and helping them find the confidence within themselves to move forward in their writing journey.
I have cared for infants as young as 3 months old, and cared for children from the ages of 2-16, both professionally and as a foster mom. I am comfortable changing diapers, navigating playtime, warming breastmilk bottles, preparing formula, taking babies and kids to the park, as well as being emotionally present for those big feelings moments.
I am a dedicated and compassionate caregiver and am always hopeful for what the future may bring.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

In 5 years I hope to be working on publishing some of my work children's books, and fantasy novels, and developing myself more as a professional writer.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I love to teach writing, painting, and doing small hand-sewing projects. I can tutor children when necessary and will self-study anything ahead of time I tutor, even if it's something I might be familiar with as I know school teaching standards have changed a lot since I was in elementary, middle, and high school. I love to swim and teach children how to feel and be confident swimmers.
