About me

I'm Bree Oandasan! I was born in Bellflower, CA but grew up in Central Texas from the ages of 3-13. I then moved to Palm Springs, CA for high school, then attended college at San Diego State University where I received my Bachelors of Arts in Communication and a minor in Multimedia Art. I graduated in May of 2023 and now live in Brooklyn, NY! Since graduating, I've been babysitting, running my own commission based art business, and have worked full time roles in corporate social media marketing. Because of my inclination for art, I enjoy art related activities to bond with the children I babysit. This includes drawing optical illusions, making origami, playing drawing games like Pictionary, and drawing the kids' favorite animated characters for them!

I've worked with children ages 3 to 7 both boys and girls. I worked in afterschool care for preschool and elementary students during the weekdays. This is when I would take the kids to get an afterschool treat, help them with any afterschool work, and keep them entertained throughout the afternoon. I love to make homework fun by making fun flashcards and creating fun ways to learn. I also enjoyed playing board games such as Uno, spoons, and Jenga. I also worked with school aged children during the summers. I guided them through workbooks in science, math, and reading. My favorite part of these days was coming up with little experiments to show the children such as Mentos volcanos. I was able to prepare simple meals for all the children I babysat. I myself am a high energy person, with many of my friends telling me it seems like I never run out of social battery. Therefore, I am great with high energy kids that love to play!

I have always loved taking care of kids, and children seem to have a natural inclination towards me. I am a firm believer that idle time- such as the time afterschool- is golden time for a child, and therefore should be used wisely. As a childcare professional, I always make sure I am hands-on and actively engaged with children, especially because afterschool time was my favorite time growing up. I hope to make whatever time I have caring for a child a time for them to look forward to.
