About me
Hi! My name is Madeline and I grew up in Buffalo, NY. I attended the University at Buffalo where I earned my BA in International Studies and then American University where I received my MA in International Affairs. Throughout both undergraduate and graduate school, I worked as a nanny for a variety of families, supporting the children with anything from homework to playing hide and seek! As a child I always loved spending time with my cousin, who was my babysitter. These are some of my fondest memories as a child!
In my 8+ years of experience in childcare, I have worked with children ages 8 months to 11 years old! My responsibilities have included homework support, preparing meals, managing schedules, providing transportation, leading arts and crafts, swimming, changing diapers, and taking kids on field trips to the park, theme parks, zoos, and more! I am always looking for fun ways to engage with children and learn about their interests. I am CPR certified, speak Spanish, have experience working with kids with autism, and have experience as an assistant English teacher.
Outside of work, one of my favorite things to do is explore my neighborhood and city. Whether that is going for walks, finding new coffee shops, or checking out museums, I always love to spend time outside of the house. With parent approval, I have always enjoyed taking the children along with me on these fun strolls! It allows us to be creative, exercise, and enjoy the weather. One of the most rewarding things about childcare is when I am able to support the progress of the children in becoming more independent and confident. Whether they make their cereal for the first time on their own, or are able to figure out a challenging math problem, being able to support them along the way is such a special thing to be a part of.
I am available Monday-Friday: 6pm-11pm and Saturday and Sunday all day!
