Hello! I am Aura, and I’m from Colombia. I'm a former Au Pair, and a caring, active, patient, and creative nanny with experience caring for infants, toddlers and children of different ages. I love to swim, travel, Cook, learn about new cultures, and read books that contribute to my personal growth. I have a Bachelor's degree in Social Communications & Journalism and have a Master Degree in Digital Marketing, this Journey has taken me from my professional Degree in Colombia to over 8+ years of experience inspiran work with children.
I’m fully vaccinated against Covid-19, and First Aid/CPR - AED certified.
My first job as a nanny was as an Au Pair in 2016. I was a Live-in Nanny and was in charge of a 3-year-old girl and a 5-year-old boy. My responsibilities included taking them to school, helping them with homework, doing laundry, preparing their meals, planning outdoor and indoor activities. Within my role with the permission of the parents, I taught them Spanish, and so far, all the children I have taken care of understand and speak fluent Spanish. I worked with this family until 2019.
My next family in Jan 2021, I was in charge of a 6-month-old baby. My responsibilities included diapers changing , feeding the baby, helping him in the transition to solids, and doing his laundry. I was by his side in his first steps but sadly they moved to another state so started my journey to look for a new family. Later, I found another family with a 4-year-old child and I worked with them for 1 year. The child was already going to school so they decided they no longer needed a FT nanny, but I'm still doing some date nights occasionally for them.
From Dec 2022 to Sep 2024, I started taking Care of a 4-month-old baby girl and her brother was 2 years old. Among my responsibilities were potty training, transition to solids, sensory activities, learning to walk, teaching them Spanish, washing their clothes, preparing food, arts and crafts, and planning outdoor activities for them. Both of them are going to school now so I started with a new family in Oct 2024, who is very interested in their daughter being bilingual, I work occasionally for them from Monday to Thursday with their 5-month-old daughter. It is very important to start introducing another language from the earliest age.
What I find most important about working with children is connecting with them and validating their emotions. Communication and connecting with the family is my priority.
