About me

I grew up in a small farm town, in Michigan, with my parents, two brothers and multiple animals. Growing up, I was passionate about many things: animals, theatre, acting, music, hair and makeup, and gaming. After high school, I went to beauty school and got my cosmetology license, then worked in a salon for a couple months before the pandemic. During the pandemic, I started primarily babysitting for work and realized it was something I was really good at and enjoyed.

I spent most of my teen years babysitting for family friends and little cousins. I always enjoyed babysitting because it gave me the chance to be a kid again but I never realized how much I loved working with kids until I started working at a childcare that is within a rehabilitation center for substance abuse. There I worked with children ranging in ages newborn to 10yrs, and many children that were diagnosed or showed signs of autism and/or FASD. Working at the childcare is where I got very comfortable watching multiple children at one time, alone. After about a year of working there, I moved to New York where I planned to become a full time nanny. Shortly after moving, I found my current family and have been working with them for over a year and I absolutely love it. I watch 2 children - an 18 month old girl and 4 year old boy - 3 days a week where we do all sorts of activities, such as, going to the park; playing hide and go seek; crafts; baking; and watching movies. I also work for a second family 3 days a week, watching another 18 month old and 4 year old. I primarily look after the 18 month old boy where we play with Play Doh; paint and color; play ball; and dance. I am currently CPR, First Aid, AED certified.

I understand that even though I am not a parent, working with children is a huge responsibility and I am taking a large part in raising a child. I want the children I watch to feel safe with me and understand that I am always there for them. I always see teachers talking about how their students lack respect, so my main goal is to teach all the kids I work with about manners and respect while also setting their own boundaries for people to respect.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I love to teach kids how to play hide and go seek because it is my favorite game to play. I do know some baby sign language as well and love being able to teach it to the kids I am around
