About me

Hi! My name is Stacey Rodriguez. I’m the youngest of 4 children. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA so a lot of my identity was influenced by the culture there along with that of my Latin parents. I was always a studious, good-grades type of student. I knew college would come easy to me, but I realized I never had a “career dream”. I didn’t know what I wanted to do (how many times do you hear that?) so I decided to focus on what I was good at, and one of those was being a natural when it came to kids!

My child-caretaking experience started around as soon as I became an adult. I jumped into the education world and worked at several schools throughout the San Fernando Valley in Southern California. I started off as a tutor for elementary and middle school-aged children and continued to work my way up through different tutoring levels, to supervisor, and eventually Head of the Afterschool Program. I learned so much about all different types of children, from age to background, to behaviors, and how everything in their life is connected and reflective. It was beautiful to be the highlight of some of these children’s days. I became grateful to be a part of their life, in the way I was.

During my school work years, both my sisters also got married and started their families. Guess who became the token babysitter? But I didn’t mind it. If I could love other people’s children like my own, you could only imagine how happy I was to help my sisters raise their children when they needed the extra hand. This eventually led to me exploring nanny positions and really appreciating the more intimate setting. I went from 30:1 child ratio to 2:1 or 1:1 and I never looked back. Being a parent and being a nanny is NOT for the weak. It’s NOT for the impatient. It’s NOT for the self-centered or self-seeking and it IS a sacrifice. Not everyone can do this job and do it well and that’s okay so long there are people who love it, and have what it takes to do it! I believe I am one of those people, and I cannot wait to help another family’s #1 priority.
