About me

I grew up in Leesburg, Virginia with my parents and two younger siblings. Even as a child, I have always been interested in understanding why people do what they do and how people can be happier, especially in relation to children. I graduated in 2021 with a degree in Psychology, and find great joy in my work as a nanny!

I have been occasionally babysitting since I was about 16 years old. In 2020, I began nannying for 3 children: 21 months, 4y, and 6y, and I worked with them for 2 years. In that position, I prepared their meals, did their laundry, got them ready for a nap, took them outside as often as possible or did a creative activity at home, drove them to and from school, and drove them to various activities. I also changed diapers and helped with potty training. When requested, I stayed longer to facilitate bath time, helped with dinner, and occasionally put them to bed. In November of 2021, I began babysitting for a family nearby, consisting of 4 boys: 8m, 4y, 6y, and 7y. I focused on feeding the baby, playing with him, cleaning up, and getting him down for his scheduled naps. I played with the older boys as they requested, got their meals ready, and got them ready for bed. Later in the school year, while all the older kids went to school, I took care of the toddler and the baby from the different families the same time. I went on to work as an RBT for the past year, in which I worked on life skills, social skills, and reducing inappropriate behaviors with autistic kids, ranging from 3y to 14y. Although I was not in a caregiver role, I often had to act like I was and gave tips and support to the parents.

In my free time, I enjoy making things, such as food, candles, Ikea furniture, and most often art. I like to read, go to the park, try new things, and other interests that I find kids enjoy just as much as I do. I feel engaging in fun activities as often as possible is what makes people the happiest.

I love seeing children grow and learn new things. I love helping them do things they thought were too hard and seeing how proud they are when they accomplish the goal. I love seeing how excited they are to show you their new creation or what they did on the weekend. I love that we get to play together and both put smiles on each other’s faces.
