About me

I grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina, as the youngest sibling of five kids. With family members who farm in regenerative agriculture, I grew up surrounded people while also exploring and building a relationship to the natural world. My passions for social and environmental justice brought me to study Political Science at Williams College in Western Mass, where I was also a student athlete. I enjoy movement, whether that be hiking, running, yoga, or dancing. I've also always maintained an art practice and am currently doing freelance graphic design and photography.

Before moving to New York this fall, I was an art teacher at a Title I public school, seeing 450+ students grades K-8, where I also helped run the school garden. Aside from this experience, I have plenty of childcare work under my belt. In high school, I taught for three summers at a camp for children and adults with differing mental and physical abilities. More recently, I nannied for a 14 month year old as well as two twin 9 year olds. Having so many cousins and older siblings with children, I also grew up babysitting infants, toddlers and adolescents which I eventually expanded through word of mouth and using Bambino, an app for babysitters. I now have five nieces and nephews under the age of four years old, who I care for often separately and altogether.

With all the experiences I've had, I prioritize building relationships - getting to know each child, their interests and needs, and supporting them as they explore their own joys and passions.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

working in sustainability on the creative or strategy side of things! After working in that for a while, I'd love to go back to teaching art and in school gardens.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

drawing, painting, collaging, photography. Identification of plants, animals and insects, and a general love of nature! I am also fluent in Spanish :)
