About me

I am the firstborn of eight siblings in the Islands of Trinidad and Tobago. Both of my parents were educators. As the eldest, my responsibilities varied but mainly in the area of assisting my parents with the day-to-day running of the home. My area of study ranges from sciences to business. I eventually qualified in Marketing, Advertising, and Public Relations for the University of the West Indies. While living in Trinidad, I was a Teacher in the area of Micro Entrepreneurship, 16 to 33-year-old individual, an Accountant, and a Business Owner. Upon arriving in the United States of America in 1996, I became a mother of 2 boys, who are both adults now. I have worked In many fields, such as gas station clerk/AAA dispatcher, accounting, and a business owner. 
    For the last 19 years, I have been self-employed in the vocation of Newborn care specialists. I have traveled across the country working with 100 plus families, working with singletons and twins, full-term and premature beautiful babies. I have had many highlights during this journey, the best is seeing premature babies grow and develop to the point of gaining weight, getting off monitors, and striving as full-term Babies. Most of my clients were from 3 days old with a few exceptions where they were premature or I replaced another Nurse or came in when they were a few weeks old. I have been with my current family for 11 years from their first child to the third and last child in the position of NCS and Childcare when they last turned 2 years old. I have also continued to be a NCS to other clients over the years.
   In my spare time, I am at home with my family which includes 3 grandchildren. I garden, do activities with them, and take care of my home. I do travel and go on road trips when I can. Things I do in my off time calm me and center me, so I can then be the best of my professional self when I am on the job. I believe that babies are little people and should be approached as such with love, kindness and respect. They sense our disposition as adults and react to it. 
I enjoy this vocation I have chosen.
