About me

Hi! My name is Madeline but you can call me Madi. I grew up in Indiana but moved to New York City about 2 years ago to attend Atlantic Acting School in Chelsea. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology. This is also known as Communication Disorder. I worked with children of different ages to help with their communication needs. This was often with children on the Autism spectrum, but not always! This training gave me the tools to work with multiple children who have a variety of different needs.
Professionally, I have worked with 1 child with Down Syndrome and 2 individuals with autism. I started with the child with Down Syndrome when he was 9 and now he’s 11! We often do fun activities such as going to movies, plays, and the park! I also take him to events for kids like him who have intellectual disabilities such as Power of We. I also taken care of children in nonprofessional settings. For instance, I have a 2-year-old niece who is the sweetest child ever! I also have taken care of my best friend of 12 years' 4-year-old son, and helped her with him since day one (I was even in the room when he was born).
I hope to take all of the knowledge, professionally and personally, that I have acquired over the years and put it towards a new family.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

Acting! I came to New York to study acting, and I hope eventually to just be able to be a continually working actor while growing my family.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I love to teach the sign language I know! I love to learn with them new signs as well. I also like to find new parts of the city to explore or different activities we didn’t know existed!
