About me

I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. Being the oldest sibling came with great responsibility as I was the backbone for everyone which I enjoyed because it has helped shape me into the woman I am today. As a child I enjoyed playing outside, drawing, music, and dancing. I graduated from Borough of Manhattan Community College with an Associate in Early Childhood Education. Since graduating I have been tutoring children helping improve their literacy skills adding to my well-rounded experience.

Over the years, I have gained lots of experience working with children in a range of different jobs. I spent my high school years as a Youth Advocate where I determined fair and appropriate sanctions for youthful teen offenders who committed low-level offenses. After graduating I went on to be an After School Teacher where I worked with a group of 10-12 children ranging from ages 6-9 getting to know the children individually and tailoring the activities and programming to meet their needs and interests. I also went on to be a Nanny for two different families within a span of 5 years where I cared for the children from infants to toddlers. As a nanny, I implemented engaging and developmentally appropriate learning experiences/ activities daily for the children amongst other duties. Later, I became an Assistant Teacher for about a year working with children ages 4/5 and implementing the DOE curriculum. Lastly, and most recently I tutored 1st and 2nd graders virtually helping improve literacy skills.

Since I have a strong love for music, dancing, and drawing I try to incorporate these into my daily routine not only because it’s fun but also because it helps improve the children’s skills. I find that children also enjoy these activities because they get to express themselves, move their bodies freely, and have their imagination take over. The phrase "It takes a village" resonates with me because it is important to have a great support system for both the family and the child. It prides me to be that person a child can depend on as well as look up to.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I love to have dance parties with the children and get the wiggles out. I love teaching the children confidence within themselves and activities they may find difficult. I love sharing special moments with the children and for me that could be coloring, watching movies and playing games that are more intimate to get to know them on a deeper level.
