About me
A little bit about me: I am 30 years old and recently moved back to NYC after living in LA for 2 years. I’m originally from Florida, where I grew up with my younger brother. As I kid I enjoyed both anything creative and/or active, and competitively danced and played tennis until college. I was very involved in my high school and graduated at the top of my class. I went on to the University of Florida where I earned my BFA in Dance with a certification in Arts in Medicine. My mom is a pianist and my dad is a football coach, which made dance the perfect blend! I stayed at UF one more year to earn my Master’s in Business Management before moving to NYC.
Currently, I am working as a health and wellness coach and as a project-based dance artist as I enjoy the city again and all it has to offer. I love dancing, cooking, reading, anything outdoors, and taking new classes/learning new skills! I start taking conversational French and ballroom classes in the new year!
I’ve worked with kids in many capacities since I was 16 years old. My first real job working with kids (other than your neighborhood date night babysitter) was as a teacher’s assistant for the dance studio I attended. I had the opportunity to assist as well as lead classes for ages 3-13. During college, I worked as a volunteer dance teacher, part of an organization whose mission was to bring the arts to inner city/low-income kids. After graduating and moving to NYC, I started my first regular after-school nanny position with twin 8-year-old boys. I enjoyed the work, so I pursued more roles as a nanny in LA - I worked with 2-year-olds all the way through 16-year-olds! I eventually landed in a job as a Personal Assistant and Nanny, for a high-profile house with 4 kids. I love this family dearly, and still see them often!
I’ve taught many ages, 3 to 91, as well as special needs. As a nanny, I enjoy using art therapy techniques and tools with kids, integrating music, art, and writing, and allowing for free play. I enjoy helping kids work through their daily frustrations/stress while encouraging/developing creative-based play and exploration, as well as guiding them to solve problems and find answers.
