About me

Hello families, I am Ally Benkert and I am 25 years old! I grew up in Monmouth County New Jersey in Colts Neck. I have one older sister, who is 18 months older than me, and she lives in California. Growing up, I always babysat and was involved in many clubs working with children, particularly with children with special needs. I take pride in my educational background and my passion for caring for children. My childhood job, for over eight years, was a camp counselor/group leader of children of all ages, which was the cornerstone of why I pursued child care as a career.

I have been a professional nanny for over three years. I began my nanny career when I graduated from college in 2020 from Saint Joseph’s University, with a degree in Autism Behavior Studies and a minor in Early Education. My first family was with a 15-month-old little boy. I loved watching him grow and reach growth and development milestones right in front of my eyes. One of my proudest nanny moments was me leaving one day, I said “Bye have a great day” and he responded “Bye Ally see you tomorrow”, it was such a special moment for me and the parents and I will never forget hearing him say his first full sentence! I was with him for a year, 9 to 5 every day. Due to the pandemic, we had to stay inside and make activities out of what we had in the house. This was challenging, but we would do puzzles, go for long walks, and play outside as much as possible. Once I ended this position, I went on to be a summertime nanny with a family who had two daughters, ages 18 months and 4 years old. Then I transitioned into my longest Nanny position, with a girl who was 1 year old when I started and I stayed with this family for two years, until I relocated to Hoboken, NJ. In this position, I cooked, cleaned, and did laundry for the little girl and picked up after each day. I love building schedules and making activities for the child to follow a routine. I take pride in the responsibilities of caring for a family. I am extremely safety conscious, and with that said I am CPR and First Aid certified! Children’s safety is my number one priority!

I am a caring, loving, responsible 25-year-old who loves to help others, mainly children! In my spare time, I love to work out, cook, go for a walk in the city, and make new memories with my family and friends! My goal as a nanny is to be a role model, and caregiver, aiding in the child's development and ever-growing mind in all aspects; educationally and creatively!

In 5 years, I hope to be...

In the last five years, I have learned the importance of early childhood care in the home to shape children into happy and healthy people in this world. I am focused on my personal skillset to give back to the best of my ability. I hope in the upcoming years of my career I continue to help more families raise their children to be the best they can be.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I love to teach children day-to-day tasks! One task that always sticks out to me is when the child I’m watching finally learns how to throw out something and they get so excited! It’s also really exciting to teach them skills that help them hit their milestones, such as building blocks or being potty trained! I took sign language in college so I know some basic sign language and that is always something very fulfilling to see when someone signs “more” when they would like more food or showing all done hands to indicate they are finished.
