About me

I moved from Sacramento, CA to Portland, OR at the age of 16 with my two sisters and parents. I quickly fell in love with the city and decided to pursue my high education at Portland State University in Liberal Studies. After college, my focus was mainly on exploring and engaging with my city, and spending time with my family and friends. I love community, and when the opportunity arose to preschool teach at a local school, I was thrilled!

I worked professionally as a preschool teacher for a little over two years, starting in late summer of 2021. In this role, I worked with children as young as 6 months in the playschool, up to children aged 5 years in the preschool. My duties would fluctuate based on the ages of the children I was working with, but they consisted of everything from diapering, bottle feeding, and putting babies down for naps (infant/baby care), to planning and facilitating various art, sensory, and educational activities. Alongside my job as a preschool teacher, I also became a regular babysitter for some very wonderful families, mainly working with children aged 2-7 years. In this role I became very familiar with preparing meals and facilitating bath and bedtime. I am CPR and First Aid certified, and I possess a number of credit hours in Early Childhood Education courses.

I am very inspired by working with children. I am constantly in awe of the compassion, curiosity, and creativity that children possess, and I feel strongly that creating a safe, nurturing, and encouraging environment for children makes the world a better place. Children are the future, and helping them grow into confident, caring, and independent individuals is very important to me.
