About me

I grew up primarily in Michigan with two older brothers. I loved to follow them around and do whatever they loved so under their influence I developed an interest in rollerblading, biking, swimming, reading, and music. Separately, I also loved arts and crafts and the visual arts. This love stayed with me and I earned my BA in Photography at Allegheny College. I also double minored in Asian Studies and Creative Writing and was a part of the rugby team, and boxing club, and was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. In between my junior and senior years, I also studied and traveled abroad through the Semester at Sea!

I grew up, as many children in the suburbs do, babysitting other kids in the neighborhood. And I never lost my love for it. I continued through my teens and into adulthood and now have experience ranging from newborns to twins to teens. I have been an occasional/one-time sitter, a regular nanny, a full-time caregiver while the parents were away, a hotel sitter, and everything in between. My first New York family was for 10 and 12-year-old sisters. The relationship quickly grew from strictly school pickup/dropoff to spending hours together after school and on the weekends. We ate snacks, did homework, went to lessons, and playdates, and even had sleepovers! I’ve since spent the majority of my time with a variety of families with children of a younger age range (3 months - 2 years old) which has included making and warming bottles, changing diapers, nap time, playtime in and out of the house, meals, and bedtime.

I love reading and arts and crafts as much as I love games and running around outside. I grew up participating in many sports and continue to stay active today by biking around the city and lifting weights. In addition, I love cooking and baking and am, by nature, an organizer. My friends call me 'The Animal Whisperer' so I love pets too. My variety of interests and skills makes it easy to connect with anyone, but I’m also often told I have young energy and enjoy spending time with kids because of their genuine joy and curiosity toward life. I love supporting them to explore who they are and what makes them happy.
