About me

I grew up in Maine, hoping to explore the world and its beautiful, diverse communities. As a child I loved to tap dance, run cross country, and do hands-on crafts. Being creative and thinking outside the box has always been one of my strengths, and it has helped me lean into supporting others who see the world differently. I went on to study at UMaine, where I split my time between learning to help victims of interpersonal violence, and working with disabled community members.

After graduating, I worked at several non-profits. I was granted the opportunity to work with middle school - college age students. The purpose was to cultivate, support, and cherish the friendships made between able-bodied and disabled children. I also worked with BIPOC and/or Queer Led organizations. My time with these organizations helped me learn to advocate and celebrate the vast beauty among different communities. I learned to help children and youth feel empowered and encouraged to find beauty among their differences.

My childcare experience began in high school, as I babysat two young girls (ages 4 + a newborn.) The 4 year old and I enjoyed dancing, singing, crafts, pretend play, and other games together. As I got older, I learned how to properly tend to the baby's needs. I'm happy to say we are still close 10 years later.

Furthermore, after leaving the nonprofit world, I began working full-time as a Nanny + Family Assistant. As the child grew (8-22 months) we developed a wonderful bond. While attending to the basic needs (feeding, changing, bottles, laundry, tidying up, meal prep, etc,) we attended classes, did fun outings, played in the park + beach, traveled to 4 states + Europe, read books, did pretend play, school drop off + pick up, and more! Additionally, I tended to the parents' mail, errands, shopping, pet-care, laundry, house-hold appointments, and other needs as they arose.

I love working with children and I value being part of a child's understanding of the world. I utilize gentle-parenting skills and uplift a child's natural sense of wonder. I believe children are brilliant and offer us immense knowledge, kindness, and compassion.
