About me
I'm originally from New York and I moved to New Jersey 4 years ago. I am an only child but, growing up I spent lots of time around my cousins. I was one of the older cousins, so I was often left to look after my younger ones and that's where my love for being around children began. I am also a part-time student at Lehman College, I am taking online classes and working towards a career in social work. My goal is to continue working with children in the future.
I've been a nanny for about 10 years. My childcare experience expands across all age groups including children with special needs. My very first and most memorable childcare experience was with a 4-year-old girl who was autistic. The experience taught me a lot about myself as a nanny. I learned that children truly are amazing and that every child is different and grows at their own pace.
I believe it is very important for children to have a positive influence in their lives and that is why I take pride in meeting the needs of the children I care for. Aside from being a nanny and a student I am also an event planner; this allows me to be organized and detail oriented. My favorite thing about working with children is watching them grow and explore their curious minds. I enjoy childcare and love engaging in games, and educational activities with children. I put the child's safety and well-being first. I am well-versed in emergency procedures and take additional precautions to keep the surroundings safe.
I have professional child care experience with...
- Infants
- Toddlers
- Preschoolers
- School-aged (K-5)
- Preteen
- Multiples
- Special Needs
In 5 years, I hope to be...
have a career in social work working closely with children in a school or hospital setting.
Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
I enjoy being able to teach children to be independent, even if it's something as small as teaching them to hold their bottles up. I am always happy when I can play a role in helping the children I care for reach milestones.
